Jindo is built for families. We collect only what we need to run the app, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads.

Jindo (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Jindo mobile application (“App”) for iPhone and iPad, our website at hellojindo.com, and related services (together, the “Services”).

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Account and profile information — such as your name, email address, and household membership when you create an account (via Sign in with Apple or email), accept an invitation, or update your profile.
Household content — information you or your family choose to add in the App to coordinate your household, including calendar events, tasks and chores, meal plans, recipes, grocery list items, and similar data you store in Jindo.
Subscription information — if you subscribe, we receive subscription status and product identifiers from Apple and our subscription management provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your full payment card details; Apple processes payments.
Push notification data — if you allow notifications, we store a device token associated with your account so we can deliver alerts you have opted into (such as event reminders, task assignments, and household updates). You can turn off notification categories in the App’s settings and revoke permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Technical and usage data — such as device type, operating system version, and app version needed to operate and improve the Services. We do not use third-party advertising trackers in the App or on this site.

How we use information

We use information to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
Sync your household data across devices and authorized family members;
Process and manage subscriptions through Apple and RevenueCat;
Authenticate you and keep your account secure;
Deliver push and local notifications you have enabled (such as event reminders, task assignments, chore due times, meal summaries, and household membership updates);
Communicate with you about the App, security, and policy updates;
Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
Comply with law and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Services, including:

With service providers who process data on our behalf (see below), under contractual obligations to protect your data;
With household members you invite, who can see shared household content according to how the App is designed;
When required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger), with appropriate safeguards.

Service providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate Jindo:

Supabase — authentication, database hosting, file storage, and related infrastructure. Data you store in the App is processed by Supabase as a service provider acting on our instructions. See Supabase’s privacy policy.
Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store subscription billing, and Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for delivering alerts to your device. See Apple’s privacy policy.
RevenueCat — subscription status and entitlement management. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Resend — transactional email delivery for household invites. See Resend’s privacy policy.

Push notifications

Jindo can send notifications to help your household stay coordinated. Some alerts are delivered through Apple’s Push Notification service (remote notifications initiated from our servers); others are scheduled on your device (such as chore due times and a daily meal summary at 7:00 a.m. local time). We use your notification category preferences and timezone to decide what to send. We do not use notifications for advertising. You control categories in the App and can disable notifications entirely in iOS Settings.

Retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may delete your account in the App’s settings, which removes your personal data subject to certain legal exceptions and backup retention periods.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we work to apply practices appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we process.

Children

The Services are intended for use by adults managing a household. Family members (including children) may appear in household data (such as assigned chores or calendar events) as added by account holders. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us at the email below.

If you are in California, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined by California law.

International users

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate, which may have different data protection rules than your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (such as in-app notice or email).
